Former parish priest in Kilkenny celebrates Golden Jubilee

Fr Jackie Robinson celebrating the golden anniversary of his ordination with brother-in-law, Dermot Tyrrell, niece Emer Tyrrell and sister Mary Tyrrell

Congrats to former St Patrick’s parish priest Fr Jackie Robinson who celebrated the Golden Jubilee of his ordination with Mass in St Canice’s Church, Borris-In -Ossory.

One of Fr Jackie’s first postings after his ordination in 1973 was as curate in St Patrick’s parish where he was very popular with the parishioners and where in addition to his clerical duties he undertook the upgrading of Foulkstown cemetery with his friend, the late Denis Treacy.

After Mass over 500 friends and parishioners from the local community came together in the Parish Hall to celebrate Fr Jackie’s special day with his sister Mary, brother-in law Dermot, and niece Emer.

Fr Jackie is the uncle of club star and nine-time All-Ireland winner Jackie Tyrrell.
