The death of Christy Dignam has seen many people come forward to pay tribute to him both as a person and as an artist.
Kilkenny band Oh Bryan got the unique opportunity to see both sides of Christy, touring as the support act for Aslan during their nationwide tour in 2020.
Following Christy's passing, Oh Byran band member Stephen O'Brien shared a touching anecdote about him on social media.
"Christy was one of the nicest people I've ever met while playing music," he said.
"He was so nice to me, so nice to my band, gave us all unbelievable opportunities.
"One specific story I remember is we were supporting them in the INEC in Kerry.
"We were supposed to soundcheck at 7.30pm. They arrived late and ran over into our soundcheck time. But in a pause during one of the songs, Christy walked over and said 'sorry for running over your soundcheck' which is just, like, it was their gig.
"There was no need to apologise to us at all. It was their show.
"They were giving us a platform by just being on the same bill as them. He didn't have to say that. Other bands wouldn't. He was such a legend."
