Members of the Order of Malta crew in Kilkenny and other crews nationwide were activated last night on foot of a request from the National Ambulance Service.
The request was made due to a high level of calls being made that required the service of ambulances and trained medical and emergency personnel.
Crews went live immediately after the request and were tasked to various hospitals and other calls. No call went unanswered.
They were stood down in the early hours of this morning.
