Hugginstown native Anita Thomas - Emirates Ireland
UAE based airline, Emirates, has announced Kilkenny native, Anita Thomas, as the country manager for the airline in Ireland.
Anita joined Emirates in January 2012 and has over 30 years experience in the airline industry.
Thomas, originally from Hugginstown in South Kilkenny, began her career with Ryanair in 1992 and has worked for a number of international carriers in the UK and Ireland.
The Kilkenny woman succeeds Enda Corneille in the role and has held previous positions as Key Accounts Manager and Sales Manager.
Speaking about her new role, Ms.Thomas said: “We have a fantastic team on the ground in Ireland and it’s a great honour to be a part of and now to lead such a passionate and ambitious group. I’m really looking forward to further realising the potential within the Irish market and promoting not only Emirates’ extensive global network, but also showcasing the onboard product to both existing as well as new customers in our market.”
Adnan Kazim, Chief Commercial Officer at Emirates has welcomed the promotion, praising the local woman’s contribution to the company.

Emirates’ extensive network spans more than 150 destinations, across six continents with two daily departures from Dublin to Dubai onboard a state-of-the art Boeing 777.
