Local councillor Fidelis Doherty has urged road users to drive with caution as summer overgrowth on local junctions are obscuring lines of vision.
“Sight lines are becoming restricted with lots of growth at this time of year,” she said. “High grass margins and ragworth growth in certain areas are also posing potential safety issues.”
The councillor voiced her concerns to area engineer Stan Cullen at the most recent meeting of Piltown MD.
Mr Cullen said the local authority ‘are in the process of cutting a lot of the junctions’ and are ‘prioritising national roads’.
“Beyond that it’s a case of resources and drivers should be aware of their responsibility to drive in relation to the conditions in front of them.”
