Kilkenny families urged to help get the Cats to Croker!

Kilkenny families urged to get the Cats to Croker!

Kilkenny families can play their part and support the Cats ahead of the All-Ireland final.

One of a series of fundraisers for the senior hurlers, a fun run and walk will be held in MW Hire Dunmore on Friday, July 21, with a number of great family prizes up for grabs.

From match tickets and signed goodies to family days out and breakfasts at UPMC Nowlan Park, there are all sorts of prizes to be won. There will also be spot prizes for photos of the best Kilkenny supporter.

The official Kilkenny GAA fundraiser hopes to see people go the distance and get the players to Croke Park.

With GAA HQ some 133km from Kilkenny, and with 42 players on the Cats panel, organisers have set a target of hitting 4,235km (42x133) for the walk and run and are calling on families to play their part.

The walk can be completed in Dunmore or virtually - all are welcome.

Sponsorship cards are available for the fundraiser - sign up and raise €100 to get a family breakfast and tour of UPMC Nowlan Park in August.

The event was a big success when held last year, with senior county hurlers bringing young fans behind the scenes to show them what life is like on big match days.

The fun run and walk will be held from 4 to 8pm at MW Hire Dunmore (people can also complete it virtually at any time between now and then). Family entry is €20.
