The Kilkenny senior hurlers on stage in UPMC Nowlan Park
UPMC Nowlan Park played host to the homecoming of the Kilkenny senior hurlers on Monday, July 24.
The Cats took on Limerick in Sunday's All-Ireland Hurling Final for the second year running, but like 2022, the Treaty County claimed the Liam MacCarthy cup, winning on a scoreline of 0-30 to 2-15
In front of a packed Ardan De Gras stand at the venue, Kilkenny Manager Derek Lyng made a brief address to the crowd, thanking supporters for turning out in such great numbers to welcome the team home.
The Emeralds man commended his players for their commitment all year, acknowledging the disappointment of the final loss but recalled the wonderful days out in Croke Park in the Leinster Final and All-Ireland Semi-Final, beating Galway and Clare respectively.
Lyng, who replaced Brian Cody as senior manager earlier this year, also thanked all the panel and backroom team for their efforts in getting Kilkenny to the biggest game of the year.
The Kilkenny Manager concluded his speech by saying:
"We stand here tonight as proud Kilkenny hurlers and supporters, we will do everything we can to return next year."
