A reading by Brendan Casey will take place at 3pm this Friday at The Book Centre
Brendan Casey, Irish/Australian writer will read from debut novel, She That Lay Silent-Like Upon Our Shore at The Book Centre on Friday at 3pm.
The novel was longlisted for the Deborah Rogers Foundation Award and was published by John Murray Originals in June of this year.
Brendan Casey wrote his new and highly rated book in a cottage in Inistioge. Casey drew inspiration from an old song called A Beast Washed Ashore by White Hinterland and Casey Dienel and the peaceful nature of the Inistioge woodlands through his creative process.
Renowned author Anne Enright has described Casey’s book as ‘an act of pure imagination’.
Brendan Casey’s work in Inistioge is not done yet as he is now revisiting a book he had started which is solely based on the woodlands of the Woodstock Gardens.
All are welcome to come along to the short reading and signing this Friday.
