Kilkenny man Tom McGrath is tying the shoelaces and running the roads and tracks of the county over the next two months as he prepares to support a worthy cause.
The Ballycallan native is counting down to Sunday, October 29 as he takes part in the Dublin City Marathon to raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society.
In the lead up to the event, Tom will hold a major fundraiser in the Pound, Ballycallan on Saturday, September 16.
The day will be full of activities including music from local artistes, a raffle and an auction.
Door prizes include a car trailer of timber, meal voucher, signed Kilkenny jersey and silver package tickets to Gowran Race Park.
Auction items include timber, turf, meal vouchers, concert tickets and prizes from local businesses.
