The suspect is being detained at Kilkenny Garda Station
A male suspect remains in custody this morning at Kilkenny Garda Station where he is being quizzed by detectives following a post office robbery in Kilkenny City yesterday afternoon.
At approximately 3.30pm a man entered the post office of High Street and demanded cash from staff. He fled the scene on foot.
A short time later gardaí arrested a male a few hundred metres from the scene. A weapon and a quantity of cash were recovered.
Anyone with any information in relation to this incident are asked to contact Kilkenny Gard Station on (056) 777599 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
Any drivers who were on High Street in or around3.30pm that may have dash cam footage are asked to contact Kilkenny Garda Station.
