A level orange weather warning for wind is in place this morning in Kilkenny from 9am as Storm Agnes makes her way across the country.
Met Eireann have issued the warning which will remain in place until 5pm this evening.
Very wet and very windy with strong to gale force southeast winds are forecast with the potential for severe and damaging gusts and localised flooding.
According to Met Eireann the strongest winds are forecast to impact the south and south-east of the country and extreme caution is advised.
Kilkenny County Council are warning people that the potential impacts include flooding, difficult travel conditions, power outages and fallen trees.
