The North Kilkenny - Castlecomer Electoral Area
A number of North Kilkenny projects have received financial support under the 2023 Discretionary Funding Scheme.
A total of €50,000 was granted to seven projects each based in North Kilkenny. The largest sum was granted for the extension of the public lighting scheme on the Clinstown Road in Freshford.
Further funding was provided for the repainting of ornamental public lights in Johnstown, additional lighting in Johnstown and Paulstown, the CLAR project in Muckalee and the provision of a metered ESB connection at Castlewarren car park.
Cllr Pat Fitzpatrick proposed the funding at the latest Castlecomer Municipal District meeting and welcomed the 'much-needed' developments.
