A woman and man, accused of having cocaine in their possession for sale and supply to others and for personal use had their cases adjourned for the service of a book of evidence at Kilkenny District Court.
Tara Conry, 4 Seville Grove, Callan Road, Kilkenny is accused of having drugs in her possession for personal use and of possession of drugs for sale and supply to others and of having cocaine with a value exceeding €13,000 at Seville Grove on July 5.
Garda Kevin Dooley told the court that he had arrested and charged the defendant and that she made no reply to any of the charges after caution. The court heard that on September 27 the DPP has directed trial on indictment on two counts of section 3 and section 15 of The Misuse of Drugs Act and of one count under section 15(a) of the same Act.
The estimated value of the cocaine seized on July 5 was €42,000.
The case was adjourned to October 26 for the service of a book of evidence.
Co-accused
A co-accused Sean Sutton, 36 O’Loughlin Court, Kilkenny also appeared before Kilkenny District Court charged with having drugs in his possession for personal use contrary to section 3 of The Misuse of Drugs Act and of having drugs in his possession for sale or supply to others contrary to section 15 of the same Act at Circular Road, Kilkenny on July 5.
The defendant is also accused of having drugs in his possession for personal use and for sale and supply to others at Seville Grove on July 5, 2023 and of having drugs in his possession in excess of €13,000 for sale or supply to others contrary to section 15(a) of The Misuse of Drugs Act.
The DPP has indicated that the prosecution is on indictment.
The court heard that the defendant made no reply after caution when the charges were put to him.
The defendant was remanded in custody to appear before Kilkenny District Court on October 26 for the service of a book of evidence.
