Kilkenny community still awaiting improvement in their water supply

The Mullinavat Sewerage Scheme project, for which planning permission was received in 2017, was originally included in Irish Water’s Capital Investment Programme for 2020-2024. However, due to funding changes, a new model was chosen to determine priorities and the upgrade of the wastewater treatment plant did not proceed as envisaged.

Irish Water (Uisce Éireann) will submit its draft Capital Investment Programme for 2025-2029 to the Commission for the Regulation of Utilities before the end of this year.

The CRU will undertake an appraisal of the Draft Plan, including a public consultation process in 2024.

Mullinavat is included in the Small Towns and Villages Scheme submitted by Kilkenny Co Council to Uisce Éireann.

Mullinavat Matters intends to make a submission to Uisce Éireann when the consultation period opens in 2024.
