Kilkenny pilgrims in Fatima
The 24th annual Kilkenny Pilgrimage to Fatima is currently taking place.
Located north of Lisbon in Central Portugal, over 50 people from Kilkenny travelled to the city for the pilgrimage last week.
Organised by Clara Parish Priest, Fr Willie Purcell, Manning Travel and World Choice, the religious tradition celebrates the Feast of Our Lady, with the 13th of each month, especially May and October, a very special date at the local Sanctuary.
The Sanctuary is dominated by the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, a magnificent church that overlooks a large open plaza where millions of pilgrims gather in procession throughout the year.
