Kilkenny courthouse
A woman who admitted stealing clothes with a value of €365 was sentenced to eight months in prison.
Tracy Carthy, St Catherine’s, Wetlands, Kilkenny admitted the theft offence which took place at MacDonagh Junction, Kilkenny, on February 20, 2023.
The court heard that on the date in question the defendant entered Champion Sports at MacDonagh Shopping Centre and stole clothes which had a value of €365. The property was recovered but was not in a saleable condition.
Solicitor Chris Hogan told the court that his client is serving a 13 month prison sentence.
Judge Geraldine Carthy convicted the defendant of theft and sentenced her to eight months in prison to be served concurrently to her current sentence.
