The Barrel Yard at Smithwick’s Experience Kilkenny was a hive of activity for the third and final night of Savour Food Festival in Kilkenny city as festival revellers gathered for mouth-watering tacos and ale pairing and to listen to live music at the cosy city centre venue.

Manager of Smithwick’s Experience Kilkenny Ignacio Peregrina was thrilled with the turnout on Sunday night, commending the Festival organisers on a great, family focused event that saw thousands visit for the annual festival of amazing food and drink and significantly boost the economy in Kilkenny and surrounding counties across the Bank Holiday Weekend.

“Savour surpassed all of our expectations. We were delighted to come on board as one of Savour’s main sponsors this year and to offer discounted entry to Smithwick’s Experience Kilkenny during for the four-day-long Festival.  There was also a great buzz in the Brewers and Distillers Tent on the Parade and it was great to tell the 300 year-old Smithwick’s Brewery story to a captive audience there and have them sample our products," he said.

“We’re also very thankful to Sharon and her team from Muse coffee + food for the fabulous, freshly-made tacos they served up and which our bar team paired delectably with Smithwick’s ales. We’d like to particularly commend Savour Festival Manager, Marian Flannery, who is the dynamo behind Savour. Her efforts and the work of the Festival team helped us all showcase Kilkenny at its very best.

“The positive feedback we’ve received throughout the Festival augurs well for Kilkenny for the future and we look forward already to next year’s Festival and to coming up with new ideas, new attractions to help boost the night-time economy in Kilkenny and create jobs,” Ignacio Peregrina said.
