Celine Byrne
World-renowned lyric soprano, Celine Byrne will perform in concert in Kilkenny’s renowned venue, St Canice’s Cathedral on November 11.
This will be Celine’s first appearance in Kilkenny and promises to be a wonderful evening of music and song in this stunning setting.
Performing alongside and supporting Celine on the evening will be Naas-based male voice choir, Baldonnel Singers, who themselves celebrate 20 years on the road in Ireland and abroad. Celine and the choir have performed together on many occasions during that time, including in the National Concert Hall at Celine’s invitation. The singing ticket is complete with guest tenor, Paul Linehan, who performs regularly with the choir in concert.
The concert is one of a number of events to mark the 20th ‘birthday’of Baldonnel Singers, founded in 2003. Happily, the founding of the choir coincided with the emergence of local secondary school student Celine Byrne, as a young singer with a great future. The choir is privileged to have shared the stage with Celine on many occasions during this time and were delighted when Celine was available to join them on this auspicious occasion.
Celine, Paul and Baldonnel Singers will perform a range of much-loved pieces from opera, musical theatre and traditional Irish favourites, including joint performances along with the choir.
Accompaniment will include piano and strings.
