Permission has been granted, subject to thirty conditions, for a large housing development in Kilkenny City.

'Madill Ltd Property Limited' originally submitted plans back in February for a 53 unit housing development a site at Rath Ullard, Bonnetsrath, Kilkenny

Eleven houses were contained within those plans, alongside 24 duplex units, one three-storey mixed use retail/apartment building, one four-storey apartment building, a single-storey facilities management building and a communal refuse storage pavilion.

Other infrastructure sought included pedestrian crossing facilities, cycle lanes, surface level car parking, public lighting, landscaping, public open space, boundary treatments, provision of foul and surface water disposal and all associated site works.

Kilkenny County Council requested further information on the plans back in April and there were a large number of submissions made in relation to the planned development.

Kilkenny County Council eventually granted planning permission to the amended plans, subject to thirty conditions, on November 3, 2023.
