From the Heart takes place at Rothe House on November 17, 18 and 19
From the Heart - is a new collaboration between Radical Acts and Kilkenny Writers Anonymous, which creatively explores what it was like at the end of the civil war.
This weekend will see the culmination of work between Radical Acts and Kilkenny Writers Anonymous over three nights at the historic Rothe House on Parliament Street.
Based on true events in 1923, these stories have been re-imagined and brought to life through a series of workshops with Ita Morrissey. Some are inspired by family history and others prompted from historic reports but all are deeply personal recreations, that promises to provide a memorable evening.
Run by Ita Morrissey, Radical Acts is a vehicle of creativity and collaboration, where people are invited to get involved in artistic projects that enhance community and wellbeing. Formed in 2022 The Kilkenny Writers Anonymous’ 11 members meet weekly to support each others writing development and recently had great success with their ’Soap Box’ event at AKA in August.
Presented at Rothe House from Friday 17th, 18th & 19th November Tickets are €5 and can be booked at eventbrite.ie/e/from-the-heart
The initiative is part of the Kilkenny County Council Decade of Centenaries Programme 2023 and is supported by the Commemorations Unit of the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts Gaeltacht, Sports and Media.
