Cllr John Coonan has expressed concern over 'drainage issues' in an amenity area serving residential developments in Kilkenny that has become 'unusable for several months each year'.

Speaking about the green area serving Glendine Woods, Glendine and Glenbawn Estates on the Castlecomer Road and Ballyfoyle Road, Cllr Coonan said he is now 'seeking action' from the local authority.

"Since 2018, Kilkenny County Council has taken charge of these estates," he said.

"Unfortunately, drainage issues make the amenity area unusable for several months each year.

"I am submitting this matter to the local authority to be prioritised to ensure that children and residents can enjoy the green area all year round."
