The Smithwick’s Experience Kilkenny team is rolling out the red carpet and is inviting locals and visitors to the city to experience Christmas at the 300-year-old brewing site as it hosts a very special, free one night only event!
On Saturday, December 16, from 5.30pm, Christmas carollers will be in full voice, welcoming guests upon their arrival to the cosy Barrell Yard, followed by a live music set from Raindogs from 6.30pm until 8.30pm.
Manager of Smithwick’s Experience Kilkenny, Ignacio Peregrina, said it’s the perfect way for weary Christmas shoppers to unwind or the ideal place to meet up with family and friends before dinner in any of the surrounding bars, restaurants and hotels.
"Our guests will be able to enjoy a selection of winter warmers, specially curated by our expert bar team, as well choosing from our ales, and some delicious Christmas food from the MUSE food truck," he said.
"Best of all, there will be a competition for the best Christmas jumper. Entry is free and we’d encourage people to come along early and secure their spot.
"We’re inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the story of Smithwick’s, Ireland’s oldest ale, told as only a local knows how.
"Our city centre brewery site is where 300 years of history combine with extraordinary brewing innovations to create the Smithwick’s tour – an experience like no other.
"Visitors can book a tour between 11am and 4pm or make a reservation for an enhanced Masters of Ale Experience after 5pm on Fridays and Saturdays and relax and unwind afterwards with a complimentary pint of ale in The Smithwick’s Bar.
"It’s the perfect pre-dinner experience before enjoying a meal with friends and everything that Kilkenny City has offer this Christmas."
Smithwick’s Experience Kilkenny remains open throughout Christmas and the New Year, closed only from December 24 to 26 inclusive.
