Johanna Brennan, a librarian with the Kilkenny County Council Library Service, has been honored with the esteemed Allen & Overy Award. The accolade recognizes exceptional talent in the field of librarianship and information management.
Brennan, one of two Ulster University Postgraduate students to receive the award, excelled in the two-year Library and Information Management Postgraduate Diploma, now celebrating its 16th year.
The program, delivered entirely online by Ulster University, is supported by global law firm Allen & Overy (A&O), which presents an annual award for the best overall performance.
Expressing his congratulations, Greg McCloskey, Global Head of IT Service Management at A&O Belfast, emphasized the significance of the course in fostering excellence.
He commended Brennan and her fellow awardee, Sinead Cooney, for demonstrating exceptional talent and wished them success in their careers in library and information management.
Brennan, currently serving as a Librarian for Kilkenny County Council Library Service, spoke highly of the course's impact on her professional development.
She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn from knowledgeable lecturers, collaborate with industry peers, and gain relevant skills in a changing information landscape.
Reflecting on the value of A&O's support for the course, Brennan noted, "I'm thankful to A&O for recognizing the value of skilled library and information professionals."
