Mayor of Kilkenny, Cllr Joe Malone, has confirmed the Dicksboro Camogie team will receive a civic reception in City Hall on Wednesday, December 20.
Sunday's All-Ireland Senior Camogie Final victory over Sarsfields marked the Kilkenny City club's first All-Ireland Senior title, beating the three in a row chasing Galway champions on a scoreline of 0-18 to 1-11.
At the final meeting of Kilkenny County Council for 2023 on Monday, December 18, councillors offered their congratulations to all involved in Dicksboro's success as well as O'Loughlin Gaels, Thomastown and Tullogher Rosbercon who booked places in the All-Ireland Senior, Intermediate and Junior Club Hurling Finals respectively.
Addressing the meeting, Fine Gael councillor, David Fitzgerald, requested a civic-reception to honour the historic 'Boro' achievement. A motion supported by Fianna Fail councillor, John Coonan and echoed across the chamber.
