E-scooter users causing danger to Kilkenny road users

Local Fianna Fáil councillor, John Coonan, has urged e-scooter users to take care over the winter months and to wear hi vis clothing to make themselves visible to traffic and other road users.

Speaking at Monday's meeting of Kilkenny County Council, Mr Coonan, said: "Users of the road have a responsibility. In recent times there's been a noticeable increase of scooter users in dark clothes."

"The message should go out there to use hi vis as it's highly dangerous," he remarked.

Mr Coonan went on to express excitement over the development of the Kilkenny Countryside Park in Dunmore and believes a future bus route should be considered due to the expected volume of people set to visit the local amenity.
