Award-winning play ‘FRIGID’ will run for one night only at Cleere’s Theatre on Friday, January 26 / Picture: Hazel Coonagh
After receiving rave reviews at Edinburgh Fringe, 'FRIGID', written and performed by Irish actor Rosa Bowden, is set to make its return this January to the renowned Cleere’s Theatre in Kilkenny City.
PREMISE
Niamh O’Reilly is still a ‘fridget’ – she’s never been kissed – and at 14, she’d want to hurry up.
Written by the talented Rosa Bowden and directed by Hildegard Ryan, FRIGID effortlessly brings to life multiple characters, guiding the audience through a rollercoaster of emotions that encapsulates the innocence, excitement, and challenges of puberty.
Set in Dublin in 2007, Niamh takes you on her journey through the innocence, discovery and fun – as well as the mortification and terror of Irish adolescence.
Back when feminism wasn’t hip and smartphones hadn’t yet conquered the world – this is a coming of age comedy about frenemies, first times and figuring it out.
So lash on some SunShimmer, pop up your collar and pucker up for a nerve wrecking trip down memory lane.
ON THE ROAD
Before coming here to Kilkenny, FRIGID has been very well received during showings at Bewley’s Cafe Theatre and The Civic Theatre in Tallaght.
It also boasts dynamic sound design and DJing by Ciaran Gallagher, immersing the audience in the era and enhancing the storytelling experience.
TICKETS
The highly anticipated show will run for one night only on January 26 with doors at 8pm.
Tickets, while they last, are available at ‘cleeres.com’.
