Richie Power Jnr
The GAA series, 'Laochra Gael,' returns to TG4 for a 22nd series later this month, with a former Kilkenny star amongst the GAA personalities to feature.
Beginning on Thursday, January 25, the first episode delves into the personal life and career of former Carrickshock and Kilkenny hurler, Richie Power.
Inspired by his father Richie Snr, who played for the Cats in the 1980s, Richie Jnr was one of the most skillful forwards to ever play for his county, winning eight All-Ireland medals during a glittering inter-county career.
However, it was far from smooth sailing for Power, with knee injuries on the field, and an ongoing battle with a gambling addiction off the field, raising obstacles he had to overcome.
The new series will air seven 60-minute episodes each Thursday at 9.30pm, concluding with former Tyrone footballer, Kevin Hughes on Thursday, March 14.
