Music tribute band set to take Kilkenny by storm

Music tribute band set to take Kilkenny by storm

The Muddy Rivers band will perform at the Watergate Theatre on February 10

"What could be better than performing to an enthusiastic audience and singing the songs of your musical hero!"

So says Muddy River Band member Willie Headon who along with fellow musicians and singers Pete Kavanagh and Pat Silke perform the songs of their respective music icons Bob Dylan and Van Morrison. The three lads have all been music professionals for many years working as songwriters, performers and record producers and all have performed with many well known Irish artists including Christy Moore, Mary Black, Charlie McGettigan, John Spillane, Eleanor Shanley, and even Enya's
name pops up among the celebs of the Irish music scene that have crossed musical paths with these three talented artists.

What started out as a one off gig just for fun has exploded into a highly successful music tribute show with standing ovations after every performance.

"It was just supposed to be for a bit of enjoyment but the response was so good and the requests for us to do it all again just meant we had to keep the show going" says Pete Kavanagh.

Headon, Kavanagh and Silke perform a full two hour show of Dylan, Young and Morrison classics backed by the rest of the exceptional Muddy River Band musicians including Jon Warren on drums, Baz Daly on bass, Joe Ryan on pedal steel and Lee Murphy on guitar. The set includes a mix of more laid back acoustic numbers along with a selection of high energy electric classics. If you're a fan of Dillon, Young or Morrison or indeed all three, then you simply have to see this show!
