Proposed enhancements for Goresbridge have been announced

A Kilkenny village is set to benefit from improvement works

Kilkenny County Council has announced proposed enhancements for Goresbridge as part of the 'Pedestrian Improvements Scheme 2023/2024'.

The local authority have proposed the following measures;

  • A new 1.800m raised footpath for safer pedestrian movement
  • A pedestrian railing to preserve bridge heritage
  • A traffic light controlled shuttle system
  • The carriageway reduced to 1 lane (3.250m)
  • Modified approaches for traffic calming & improved pedestrian access

Drawings are currently available for public inspection and a information session will be held on Thursday, February 15 from 4pm to 7pm at Ionad Dara, Chapel Street, Goresbridge.

The deadline for submissions is Monday, February 26.
