Kilquan Drama Group hit the stage again with Separate Beds by Sam Cree directed by Benny Mills for one night only on February 23.
This is a side splitting comedy with singing and dancing thrown in for a bit of hilarious craic and had a successful run earlier this month.
It takes place in the sitting room of the house of Arthur Marshall whose only daughter is due to be married the following day to Andy.
Unexpectedly in true form the mother Arthur’s wife arrives back after an absence of three years with some unexpected results!
While Arthur’s business is successful, his love life is less straightforward and leads him into some difficult situations and chaotic days ahead of the wedding. Arthur and Clare have been separated for three years, and there is sure to be fireworks upon her return.
Clare isn’t the only lady with her eyes set on Arthur Marshall as neighbour and good friend Madge Wirsall (Maria Purcell) is very keen for Arthur’s divorce to be finalised so she can begin planning a wedding of her own. A busy woman running a farm, nonetheless she finds time to assist Arthur and is looking forward to the wedding.
Judy is delighted that her mother is attending her wedding. However, the news that his future wife’s mother is separated from her husband is unsettling for Judy’s fiancée Alan.
Like all fathers before a wedding, Arthur is having some interior decorating done and has hired the expertise of local painter Andy Crawford (Tom Murphy). Mr Crawford is not the fastest and has other things on his mind. It could be said that he spends more time chatting and sitting by Marshall’s drinks trolley than upstairs with a paint brush in his hand.

Doors will open at 7 pm and play will commence at 8pm.
