Restoration of the deteriorated footpaths in Kilkenny City to take place in 2024

At last Friday's monthly meeting of the Kilkenny City Municipal District, a notice of motion for the restoration of the deteriorated patio and footpaths at Upper Patrick Street, opposite the St John of God School, was unanimously passed by city councillors.

An allocation of €25,000 has been assigned to complete the works and they are expected to take place later this year.

Local Fianna Fáil councillor, John Coonan raised the notice of motion at the March sitting of the Municipal District.

"This project is more than just an infrastructure upgrade; it's a step towards a safer, more accessible, and inclusive Kilkenny City," he said.

"We are committed to making our city a better place for everyone, and this unanimous decision is a testament to that commitment," Mr Coonan added.
