Twenty-five contestants from around the country will be descending upon Clonmel for the 17th Annual Mr Personality Festival which is being organised by Kilkenny County Macra na Feirme.
The Mr Personality Festival Launch took place on Sunday, March 3 in the Talbot Hotel Clonmel, with Clonmel Mayor, Richie Molloy, in attendance supporting the return of the festival to Clonmel for the second year.
The festival will take place between April 5 and 6 in the Talbot Hotel Clonmel. Managers Laura Jones and Michael Boyle were also present at the official launch to welcome everyone back to The Talbot Hotel. The Festival has been kindly sponsored by Kilkenny, Carlow and District Farm Relief Services, who have always been very generous and supportive of the festival. FRS Chairman Michael Parsons spoke at the launch, speaking positively of Macra na Feirme and of The Mr Personality Festival.
Many contestants believe they have what it takes to be crowned Mr Personality 2024. The reigning Mr Personality Andrew Dunne was also in attendance at the Mr Personality Launch last weekend and had a few words of wisdom for the 2024 contestants present. Andrew represented Laois last year and really enjoyed his time during the weekend: "The Mr Personality Festival 2023 was a weekend that I will remember forever. I had only gone there to enjoy myself and meet new people. But when they called out my name as the winner, I was the most shocked I had ever been in my life, I still can’t really believe it at times! It will forever be one of my proudest moments."
After lunch, the contestant challenges will take place which will see all of the lads be put through their paces! On Saturday evening, each Mr Personality will be donning his suit and meeting with Kilkenny, Carlow and District Farm Relief Services and have their official photos taken. This is followed by the banquet, starting at 6.30pm. This year, the Mr Personality committee have a very special guest making an appearance for the banquet.
The Loose Canons will be playing hit after hit, until Mr Personality 2024 is announced at 12midnight. The DJ will be continuing the celebrations until the early morning.
Kilkenny County Macra na Feirme ensures that there will be no shortage of Macra activity during the weekend in Clonmel, as we will see the return of the Hurling and Camogie competition this year.
