Gemma Hayes set to take Kilkenny by storm

Gemma Hayes will perform at the Watergate in Kilkenny on April 12

Gemma Hayes one of Ireland’s most enduring songwriters comes to the Watergate Theatre on April for one night only.

This is a full band show kicking off the Blind Faith tour ahead of the release of Gemma’s first new album in over a decade.

Gemma has spent the last year recording her new album and playing all manner of live shows - gradually gaining momentum for these upcoming full band shows – playing solo shows and small venues as well as several highly acclaimed shows sharing the stage with fellow living legends Lisa Hannigan and Paul Noonan. On the way, she sold out London’s Omeara and Dublin’s Whelan’s, as set up shows for this full band Tour and introducing her first new material in ten years.

In recent months Gemma was featured in the Fanning Sessions and was also a cornerstone of the John Prine Celebration Shows at Dublin’s Vicar Street and performed the legendary artist’s song ‘Summer’s End’on RTÉ’s The Tommy Tiernan Show.
Gemma Hayes’ debut album Night On My Side was released in 2002, for which she won Best Female Artist at the Hot Press Awards and a Mercury Prize nomination. Since then, she has released four critically acclaimed studio albums and a limited-edition live album.
Gemma Haye’s show will kick off at the Watergate at 8pm. Tickets are €27 and are available from watergatetheatre.com
