Eugene gets a push at the event in Kilmoganny
All roads lead to Kilmoganny GAA grounds on Saturday, April 20, between 2-5pm, for 'The Big Push Event' fundraiser by community stalwart Eugene O'Donovan in aid of the Carlow-Kilkenny Home Care Team.
Eugene and friends came up with The Big Push, with the local man the motivator to bring it all together. Eugene is currently receiving the essential services that the Carlow-Kilkenny Homecare Team provides. He was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2016 following bowel screening. In June 2022, a new tumour was identified, and he has been battling stomach cancer since. From June 2023, a palliative care route was recommended.
You are asked to push your most creative and crazy contraptions around the track. Push a buggy, a scooter, a wheelchair, a wheelbarrow, a bed or a bus.
On the day there will also be U7 hurling, camogie and football blitz, raffle, music, BBQ as well as prizes on the day for best entry and best costume.
