Kilkenny Minister visits new school site locally as part of Climate Action week

Minister of State, Malcolm Noonan TD paid a visit to the new CBS Kilkenny site on the Dunningstown Road last week.

The Minister planted a tree at the new school site and also officially opened the polytunnel on their current school grounds as part of Climate Action Week.

"The Green Schools Committee of Kilkenny CBS Secondary School invited me to plant a tree at their new school site on the Dunningstown Eoad. We discussed their plans to make it a green campus," Minister Noonan commented.

"Later we dropped in to the 'old' school on James' Street where Fr. Jim (Murphy) blessed the new polytunnel. I spoke with the students about the work we are doing in Government to restore nature and their important role as future leaders."

"Comhgairdeas leis na daltaí agus muinteoirí go léir," Mr Noonan concluded.
