Birdsong fills the air at the Castle Park for annual dusk chorus

As dusk began to fall on Kilkenny Castle on Thursday evening a group of nature enthusiasts took a stroll over the grounds to listen and appreciate the wondrous birdsong.

Birdsong was provided mainly by blackbirds, song thrushes, wrens,chaffinches, black cap, grey crows, wood pigeons swifts, robins, and collared doves.

The evening finished with the appearance of two foxes.

Patricia Norton, duty manager at Kilkenny Castle, was host for the evening and made the introductions and looked after the group very well.

OPW Ireland partnered with Birdwatch Ireland to organise the event.
