Alternative Kilkenny Arts is currently accepting submissions for this year’s festival which will take place across the city and county from August 8 to 18.

The AKA Festival has garnered a reputation for promoting the arts and providing an excellent platform for emerging and established local artists.

The festival continues to grow as a result of the committed and hardworking team of volunteers who run AKA.

The objective of this year’s festival is to continue to establish a connection between artists, musicians, craftspeople, and their respective audiences with a core aim of celebrating community arts across Kilkenny.

A gathering was had recently in The Book and Coffee shop on William Street with many artists of different mediums in attendance.

For those interested in participating the festival submission form will close on June 2, with further information around the submission process
