TAP '>' FOR NEXT PILTOWN LEA CANDIDATE
Fidelis Doherty (Fine Gael)
Cllr Fidelis Doherty has served in all levels of the Fine Gael organisation – at branch, district and constituency level, and has been a councillor on Kilkenny County Council since 2009.
She is a granddaughter of the late Phil Mahony who was a former Kilkenny TD and county councillor and she is heavily involved in numerous community groups in her local area.
“Supporting and offering assistance to local communities and individuals to see projects and developments happen and become a reality are a key aspect to my role as a full-time public representative,” she said.
“The overall development of the network of infrastructure sees each local area and region become strengthened and strategically planned for.”
Three years ago, Fidelis was elected as Cathaoirleach of Kilkenny County Council.
“It was great to be able to represent Kilkenny as Council Cathaoirleach and attend so many wonderful events that showcased the work being done across the county,” she noted.
The following year, Fidelis was elected as Chairperson of Piltown Municipal District, and she focused particularly on issues such as road safety in the local area, community enhancement and the development of the South-East Greenway.
Cllr Doherty wishes to thank everyone that she has met with so far on this campaign trail for their courtesy and their time.
“Your support on polling day, Friday (June 7), would be much appreciated.”
