Concerns have been raised about the dangerous traffic situation, especially during school drop-off and collection times, at the junction of the N10 and the L1016 Waterford Road and the turn off for Danesfort GAA club and the local school and crèche.

The issue concerns motorists attempting to turn right from the N10 on to L1016. There is a large volume of traffic heading into Kilkenny City on the N10 after exiting the M9 at junction 9. When cars are turning left from the N10 on to L1606, many cars overtake them by driving into the area marked with white lines where the shoulder for those waiting to turn right on to L1606 stops. Many cars are overtaking at speeds in excess of 100km.
