Kilkenny County Council, County Hall
There will be a new Cathaoirleach and Leas Cathaoirleach of Kilkenny County Council later today (Friday) with the positions set to be filled at June's county council meeting.
Fine Gael's Michael Doyle and Fianna Fáil's John Coonan have held the roles since June of last year with their 12 month terms ceasing today.
Today's meeting will also see five new county councillors take their seats in the chamber for the very first time; Jenny Catt Slattery (FF), Joe Sheridan (FF), Sean Ó hArgain (Labour), Maurice Shortall (Ind) and Stephanie Doheny (SF).
