Kilkenny handball celebrates memorable weekend for local players
Brendan Hosey and Amy Brennan have both secured All-Ireland titles

Clogh Handball Club's Brendan Hosey and Amy Brennan both secured All-Ireland titles in Mullingar over the weekend.
Hosey beat Josian Oskov of Sligo 21-3 21-18 to claim the All Ireland Silver Master B Singles title.
The Clogh handballer got some great serves going in the first game but picked up an injury to his calf in the second. However, the Kilkenny player he hobbled on to win 21-18 and bring the gold back to Clogh.
Fellow Clogh player Amy Brennan was victorious in the All Ireland Ladies Intermediate Singles competition, getting the better of Roscommon's Carragh Kennedy 21-8 21-6 to bring back the title to the North Kilkenny club to go with the Intermediate Singles title she already won in the 40x20.
"Amy played great handball today in both games and was deservant winner. A great achievement for Amy to reach Senior Status," a post on the club's social media platform read.
Meanwhile last week, Kells became the Leinster Junior Inter-Club champions, beating a gallant Coolboy of Wicklow. The Kells team that took part was; Eoin Brennan, John Hayes, Roy Cullen and Conor Condon.
It’s 10 years since Kells’ last Leinster win, so hopes are high the team can go on and win the All-Ireland title.
