Kilkenny captain Paddy Deegan believes Kilkenny aren't too far away from All-Ireland glory as the county's wait for the Liam MacCarthy Cup enters its ninth year and claims the Cats aren't interested in Limerick's 'Drive for Five'.
The centre-back with county champions O'Loughlin Gaels is expected to line out at midfield for today's (Saturday) All-Ireland Senior Hurling Semi-Final with Clare and despite anticipating a tough challenge, Deegan feels Kilkenny are contenders for hurling's biggest prize.

"We've been there or thereabouts the last few years and look it's obviously of big importance for ourselves to get over the line this year," Deegan told CRKC's Nickey Brennan.
The O'Loughlin Gaels stalwart made his senior inter-county debut in 2017 and in that seven year period, Limerick have won five All-Ireland titles including four in a row. However, according to the Gael, the 'Drive for Five' hasn't entered Kilkenny minds.
"You often hear about it alright but the focus is on ourselves and what we want to achieve and that's the main focus at the moment," he added.
