Freebooters AFC have released a statement on social media condoning the actions of over 20 teenagers who entered the club's pitch without permission on Monday evening and damaged dug outs, nets and left rubbish on the pitch.
The city club who invested in an astro-turf pitch worth approximately €600,000 claimed the youths showed 'zero respect'.
According to the post, club members who were removed will not be allowed play for the club this season and CCTV is being supplied to the Gardaí to follow up on the matter.

"Yet again tonight club members had to remove over 20 kids off the Astro pitch tonight. Wrecking the dug outs and nets on the pitch. Rubbish all over the place," the social media post read.
"Some of these teenagers are playing with the club yet continue to jump the fence. Zero respect. Others from clubs around the town and assume it’s fine to wreck what we’ve built."

"The club has spent hundreds of thousands of euros developing a top class facility only for people to jump the fences coz they feel 'entitled' to wreck havoc, play hurling, drink & smoke on the pitch," the post added.
