Bog Cotton Field by Pilar Cereto
Femina Natura - an exciting group exhibition by three distinguished Kilkenny artists, is set to launch as part of AKA festival at Rothe House.
This immersive exhibition invites audiences to explore and connect with the beauty of femininity in nature through diverse works of art.
As part the AKA festival, a trio of visionary female artists will present their carefully crafted and diverse interpretations of femininity, rooted in the belief of collective empowerment.
Femina Natura features the unique perspectives of Pilar Cereto, Krisztina Rozanich, and Ani Mollereau, each celebrating the multifaceted aspects of femininity.
Ani Mollereau’s intricate bronze sculptures capture the timeless essence of nature, featuring both captivating animal forms and women from Celtic mythology. Krisztina Rozanich’s evocative encaustic paintings highlight the intricate patterns found in nature. Pilar Cereto’s captivating figurative paintings pay homage to the female form throughout history, using it to represent the beauty of nature.
This exhibition is not just a visual delight but an enriching experience that promises to inspire, provoke thought, and ignite a deeper appreciation for the enchanting beauty of nature through a feminine lens. An artist Q&A night will be held at Rothe House on August 14 at 6pm. This interactive session will provide a unique opportunity for the artists to share insights into their creative processes. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the inspiration behind each artwork, fostering a stronger bond between the creators and the audience. During the session attendees will also have a chance to ask each of the artists about their processes and materials. This Q&A night will be facilitated by Edelle Nolan, Arts and Health programme manager at the HSE.
The opening reception will take place at Rothe House on August 8 at 6pm and the opening remarks will be made by Minister Pippa Hackett. Pippa is the Green Party Senator and Minister for Land Use Biodiversity in the Department of Agriculture.
The exhibition runs until August 18 and is open daily from 10am to 5pm at Rothe House.
