Clubs in the Kilkenny & District League (KDL) have learned how the season will be structured following a meeting in Derdimus on Thursday evening.
The new season will get under way on the weekend of August 24.
In terms of domestic football, the league have offered clarity and what players, officials and supporters can expect for the 2024/25 season and beyond.
The men's leagues this season will be; the Premier Division, Division One, Division Two and Division Three and according to league officials, sides won't switch divisions during the league season as per last season.
In the St Canice's Credit Union Premier Division there will be one team relegated this season and three promoted from Division One, creating a 10 team Premier Division in 2025. Two teams will be relegated from Division One and three promoted from Division Two.
Cup competitions will begin at the end of February and be played on the last Sunday of each month to avoid fixture congestion at the end of the season.
Elsewhere, each team is entitled to three weekends off up to March 31, but eight days notice must be given by clubs in advance.
Six teams have entered the senior women's league as it stands, with one further Kilkenny club understood to have opted to play their football in another county.
Meanwhile, the evens (U10, U12, U14 etc) schoolboy leagues are due to begin on the weekend of August 31 with odds (U9, U11, U13 etc) underage leagues starting a week later.
In terms of discipline, a home team must have match cards printed and ready to give to the referee on matchday or face a penalty. The club of a player who receives a three/four game ban will receive a €50 ban, while a €100 ban will be issued to a club if a player picks up a five game suspension.
On the sideline, coaches and managers whose behavior fails to meet the KDL's rules will also receive sanctions. A manager/coach who picks up a yellow card will be issued with a €50 fine, while three yellow cards means a €50 fine and a one game ban for the club official.
The league also intends to clampdown on walkovers for the new season. An U12 walkover will see a club pick up a €50 fine, while any team from U13 plus will be hit with a €100 penalty fine.
