Kilkenny County Council outline  future plans for Upper Patrick Street properties

Kilkenny County Council have revealed plans for proposed conservation, refurbishment, and extension works at houses 6-9 on Upper Patrick Street in Kilkenny City.

The plans will be revealed to the public at an information session in Butler House this evening (Tuesday). The proposed development will consist of;

- Converting the houses into four studio apartments with works to No 6 to include a 7m2 2 storey rear extension and new window ope to front elevation, works to No 7 to include a 12.7m2 2 storey rear extension and new door ope to front elevation, and works to No 8 to include new internal connections to No 7 and blocking up of a door to the rear.

- The reinstatement of No 9 to a dwelling house over two floors with new window opes to the gable and a new first floor extension to the rear.

- Full refurbishment and conservation works to the interiors and exteriors of the buildings.

- All associated site development works.

Meanwhile, the planning authority has concluded that there is no real likelihood of significant effects on the environment arising from the proposed development and a determination has been made that an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is not required.

Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available during office hours until Friday, September 6 at the Planning Department, County Hall, Kilkenny or by writing to the Planning Section, Kilkenny County Council, County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny or by emailing: planning@kilkennycoco.ie.
