Kilkenny Gardaí called to major rescue operation at local GAA club

Kilkenny Gardaí made an alarming discovery last night (Sunday) when they noticed a Buzzard caught in the nets behind a goal on the grounds of James Stephens GAA club on the Kells Road.

"This required prompt action and all agencies got into gear including the KSPCA, Fire Service and of course Kildare Wildlife Rescue," a post to the An Garda Síochana Kilkenny Facebook page read.

"You'll be delighted to know that our feathered friend was rescued and is now about to begin a new life in the Garden County. No more hurling for this chick," the post concluded.
