Join for a rejuvenating ADHD Parents Retreat, a day dedicated to supporting parents of children with ADHD (7-13 years old). Set in the serene location of The Kilkenny, Ormonde Hotel
Kilkenny City will be the first location to host a special upcoming event for parents of neurodivergent children, in particular those who have ADHD and co-occurring conditions.
The parent retreat event is only possible thanks to the generosity of the National Lottery, and takes place on October 22.
Through expert-led workshops, and open discussions, parents will gain valuable tools and insights to help navigate the challenges of raising a child with ADHD. Whether you’re looking for strategies, support, or a moment to recharge, this retreat is designed to empower you and provide the opportunity to connect with other parents.
Ken Kilbride CEO of ADHD Ireland emphasised the crucial need for support for families affected by ADHD.
“Considering that in one 20 (or 5%) of all children have ADHD, the need for understanding and support is overwhelming,” he said. “The concept of this event is to create a safe, comfortable and friendly environment where parents will experience fresh views on ADHD strategies, plus there will be time to relax and take a moment for themselves.”
The retreat represents a revolutionary event in Ireland, providing parents with a platform to connect, exchange experiences, acquire new techniques, engage in diverse workshops, and all while unwinding with creative activities. Each activity is intended to benefit parents, thereby supporting their children and families effectively.
“ADHD Ireland mission is to support individuals affected by ADHD,” said National Programme Development Manager Nicola Coss.
“This family retreat marks a significant milestone in the ongoing effort to support families of children affected by ADHD in Ireland, both diagnosed and undiagnosed. It signifies a collective commitment to fostering understanding, empowerment and resilience within the ADHD community. “We would like to invite parents to join us in beautiful Kilkenny!”
