Nine-time All-Ireland winner with Kilkenny Jackie Tyrrell has suggested O'Loughlin Gaels may not have wanted city rivals Dicksboro in the quarter-finals of the St Canice's Credit Union SHC despite their unbeaten record so far this season.
"O'Loughlins are without doubt the form team but I would say they probably didn't want Dicksboro because of the club rivalry dynamic," he said.
"One thing in Kilkenny club hurling, no matter how two teams are going, when it comes to a rivalry it kind of evens itself out," he added.
