Patricia Stephenson (Social Democrats) launched her campaign to contest the upcoming General Election in the Carlow-Kilkenny constituency last Friday.
The launch took place in local eatery Cakeface in Kilkenny City.
"Our Kilkenny launch was fantastic, and a great way to kick off the campaign," Stephenson said.
"I have an amazing team and we’re all very excited to get going."

Patricia has spent a decade working in the international development and aid sector.
At the launch she said that 'working with communities across the world, listening to their needs and working with them on solutions, has been the basis of my work'.
"I can’t wait to take that experience into this campaign," she added.

Patricia said she looks forward to hearing from constituents directly and that she has committed to being a voice for everyone, regardless of their background.
During the launch, Patricia spoke about the key issues she wants to campaign on in the upcoming election, specifically housing, health, transport and investment in local communities.
Patricia will have a second launch event in Carlow on October 15.
